I recently installed and got running a blog for one of my websites. beyond some style crap and "how do I get the ad here" stuff, I'm having a problem getting the Archives to work.

Does anyone have any specific knowledge which might help me?

I've posted in the bblog forums my specific uestions, but in over 24 hours, all I've seen in a couple other un-modded spam posts crop up - not inspiring...

    Thnaks,

    Duane

Fixed the archive item. smile Me's a programmer-man now!

What software are you using? Wordpress? Movable Type?

    bblog - open source

I had a Wordpress account, but after going through all the "YOU need this" to get it up and running, then checking my server and seeing I needed a bunch of upgrades, I took a refund from them. Way too much work that's beyond my skillset at this point to update everything needed.

They'd manage the install (provided all the setting were already in place for them), too, for an extra $100. Not such a bargain, it would seem. sad

So far this gear *seems* OK, but I only really started playing yesterday so I'm still in the sorting phase. They do allow you to use "clean urls" though, which converts the URLs to something more SE friendly - nice touch - now I just have to edit a bit to get some keywords into the url... wink

Right now, though, I have bigger fish to fry:

The main page of the blog is pulling blog-related adsense ads, rather than topic-related ads. No idea why, as the "internal" pages (when you click on a post to read it) are showing the proper on-topic ads.

I've tried a bunch of things from title/meta changes to dropping text into the actual html pages and .css files - nada - nothing worked. sad

If you want to take a look at my blog, Bill, or get the link to them, let me know - happy to PM it over.

    Duane

I apologize, SportsGuy. I thought you were saying 'blog' and typing it with a typo rather than actually saying 'bblog'. I didn't realize that there was some software out there called 'bblog'. Now I do. You learn something new every day. LOL

Feel free to PM me the link to your blog and I'll take a look.
