Hey guys, I am trying to modify the template I bought, but just not coming together as I had hoped. If there is a good thread on working with these templates, I would appreciate it. Not real crazy about the help section from Jims Templates...Thanks in advance, Taggingdawg

    Template #8257- PS7 - Notepad - Frontpage

I open 1_main.psd in PS7. Change the wording in upper left hand corner to match my site, save it, (not always sure about the saving part, many options). Then, open Notepad, open index.html, insert my text. Save as index.html

Open FP so I can see it, The change I made in PS is there, but all the text and bullets etc are missing.

If instead I just open the index.html file in FP, everything is fine, except I'm stuck with logos that aren't mine, and placeholder text.

I know FP is has a mind of it's own, but I need to view the work somehow. Also,I don't believe FP is the culprit.

Love the template, just can't piece it together.
    Suggestions? Thanks in advance

Hmm... it sounds to me like you might be having issues with the directory/referencing structure?

Open FP so I can see it, The change I made in PS is there, but all the text and bullets etc are missing.

If instead I just open the index.html file in FP, everything is fine, except I'm stuck with logos that aren't mine, and placeholder text.

Do you by any chance have more than one index.html file in more than one directory? That could explain why the bullets are missing (they are referencing another directory) in one, and in the other the changes you made in PS/Notepad don't show up.

I do recall someone having a problem with one of the free templates once where all of the image references were absolute and linking to the original source like

    Code: [copy]

Using relative linking instead makes viewing off-line easier to check.

As for FP, I've always heard it's evil and likes to mangle your code. Just viewing in it can't hurt anything, but I'd recommend you not "save" anything using it, only do that in Notepad so FP can't work its voodoo. :) Then again, I usually just open pages locally in IE to view them.

It's really hard to tell what's wrong when I can't see it and view the source code. Would it be possible for you to upload the "site" somewhere and PM me the url so I can check it out?

Thanks for the reply, I'll see if I can get it posted.
