Hi Guys .... I know its not something to sweat but today we have noticed a change in PR to many pages on our site ... they have been steady since early November. is it that time again? any news?

That always happen, why worry about it?

PR is only a small factor in the algorithm, you see pages with great PR ranking badly and pages with almost no PR ranking at the top.

No worries...

Google announced some changes to PR values earlier this month, so that's what you're seeing.

I would not sweat it. In reality, the PR you and I see in any form of toolbar is about 4 months behind the figured Google is actually using in it's algorithm to help rank you, so bear that in mind when eyeballing PR numbers - what you're seeing is out of date. wink

When they announce changes, it's usually more a signal that they tweaked the algo in some small or significant way (they never say to what degree they monkey with it).

They do this to let us all know to expect changes - like a heads up. Otherwise, PR simply updates on it's own in any toolbar you're using when it's good and ready. wink

Now, all that said, if your PR dropped dramatically, it's an indication something is up with your site - specifically, they don't like something about your overall mix. If it's up - grab a beer, then get back to work. wink

one big difference is my competetor's paid links have gone up to 4 thousand and their rankings increased significantly way to go GOOGLE sad
