First time I ever recall seeing anything like this posted chris. Your frustration may be valid, but seeing as how you JUST signed up and joined today (you posted a hello, then this post), I am surprised to learn you received 13 spam e-mails from us or anyone related to us today.

Not saying it didn't happen, as I'm not the man in charge, and I'm sure there are things that happen here that I am unaware of, but YOU would be the first person to post about it, and YOU could have simply ignored them and stuck around to learn.

Totally your choice, however, and as I mentioned, I'm not trying to invalidate anything you're saying or feeling on this issue.

Best of luck to you elsewhere if you choose not to stick around here. sad

that's the thing I don't understand about spam emails... nobody reacts the same to them as mail through the door, it's not like you'd try and get the post office sued for posting spam post through :/

Everyone claims to hate the fine meat product, but Hormel seems to keep shipping (many flavorful) varieties of the tinned lunchen loaf. It is almost sad to see such a fine and proud brand name product associated with junk email.

Fess up! When was the last time you hid from your kids and spouse and ate a spiced chipped-meat sandwich?

Chris, are you sure that this site is responsible for any of those SPAM messages you believe you received? Many SPAMMERs forge those details. I'm not an Admin but as far as I know we don't have any sponsors or advertisers who send anything via email.

I get more than my share of SPAM messages but have never received any that seemed to be associated with this site and I post more than many here.

You can PM anyone here including any Moderator. You can email many of us through the sites linked from our profiles. And you can post in this forum requesting clarification and assistance.

I assure you that I have never seen a complaint like yours in all the years I've been here and to the best of my knowledge we don't email anyone anything.

I signed up with the JimWorld newsletters since 1997 (then called “Virtual Promote”) and have been a forum member since 1998. In all those years, I can't remember ever getting spammed by their advertisers. The folks at JimWorld are very honorable about people's email addresses and do not give them out to spammers.

I do not know how you got spammed via JimWorld advertisers, but it's quite possible the email headers are forged.

My money is on the fact that none of it came from us.

But, if the user feels it did, well, perception is reality. sad

Chris, no matter what, you'll always be welcome back should you ever choose to return.

Spam has become such a big problem now that even Bill (read hotmail.com) is asking for our help to control it. You'd think with a billion dollars worth of technology, he'd be able to weed out spam without our intervention rolleyeys

Chrisgoat, I've been here a long time too and never had problems with SEF sending any form of spam. So stick around and help us (me specifically), Kill Bill and his cronies bigsmile
