Just heard today on CNN Glenn Beck show about a movement for secession of 25 states from the USA. Vermont is in the mix as well as California, Texas, etc. Seems it's picking up steam. If that happened, I can see some crazy times up ahead for the Un-United States.
Actually DisUnited States is grammatically correct, but had to invent a new word.

I'm seeing some strange things happening with the USA. Also hearing that in Italy some of their government officials would like to tax the church. That sure would change the state of affairs with mainstream religion.
Here's a prediction: In the next few years Hillary Clinton is President and Barack Obama is Vice President of the new USA; we have Churches everywhere paying taxes; northern 20+ states are the only states left of the United States; southern states become their own mini-countries; following that churches begin defaulting on taxes and governments take over the properties.

and lets not forget the formation of th North American Union, which must be formed to compete with the EU. To think that we can't compete on a global scale without the help of MEXICO in unthinkable to me.
now...to unite the US, Canada and mexico owe must either elevate the economics of mexico or dumb down the ecomonics of the US, guess which approach i think they are taking.

How do you think we feel - our dollar's worth more in Canada now - and our beer is better...damn it. We'll still do it, though, because we're nice folks and don't mind sharing...

Yep the USA corporations are selling the American industrial leverage to the Chinese and the Chinese know this. The Chinese are gonna take that industrial know-how and bite the hand that is feeding it. USA is in some ways at the mercy of China at least as far as the general populus goes. I'm thinking that is why China corps are getting bold and passing inferior product back to the USA because in various ways they are the industry supplier now with little industry still existing in the USA.
The USA should rethink the idea of sending jobs and tech over to China simply to save a few bucks here and there. There is far too much product being made in China and not enough in the USA—creates a not-so-savory position for USA.
I think the corps actually run the governments now days. These southern states are actually playing into the hands of the corps if they decide to actually secede from the USA. How will the destabilized USA be able to effect demands when each mini-state government has very little power by themselves. It won't work as well for bargaining. The total sum is greater than the parts. China won't care nearly as much if say Florida has a problem with them producing poor quality or dangerous product. That's in contrast when the whole USA has a problem, China still tends to sit up and take notice.
Funny thing about "In God We Trust"... the Bible for quite some time has been largely ignored by many/most people. Sure they profess to believe in him, but do they really know him or even follow his commandments? Don't think so.
