Hey guys. I should start by saying, that I do not know very much technically when it comes to websites and the internet. I am learning as I go. So I have my site up and I am advertising on several places on the internet. We have a pretty unique product, so there is not a lot activity on what we sell on the search engines. However, when I type in stuff like “paracord bracelets” in google, we are nowhere to be found. So:
1. How can I get my website to pull up on the first page when people type in key words while searching?
2. Can someone give me some insight on how this works, or a link to some reading that I can learn what I need to do.
My site is {edited}
Thanks for any help you guys can provide!!!

do you have the words "paracord bracelets" in the text on your website? I don't see it
I have never heard of such a thing, but if that is a niche term, then type it in! - In the text - On the page.
Also, how about naming your pages in the page title section.
If we look at Google we can see that the page titles are what is linked so - something better than "Home" is going to be appropriate.
There should be some sort of beginners area around this website, do some searches and read, read, read, it will help you learn!
All the best with it, let us know if you have more questions.

hows it feel to get your first site up and running?
I know your proud of your work, an I was proud of mine, but...its just not ready and very far off the mark.
So..now you need to do some studying
You need your keyword phrase in your title, meta tags, title in content and information on the page that supports that keyword phrase.
You need to add all of this.
I would also create a menu for all of your navigation and split the main page into several pages.
I also noticed you used a site builder, that is going to cause you problems all the way along the road to your end result.
keep going, do a lot of research, keep modifying your page and you will get there, but not over night.
good luck

Surprised nobody has mentioned this - but it also takes time and links. Get as many links from relevant sites back to your site as possible. Also wait. For a new site, it can take a long time, a year plus, even for a niche site. That said, I have seen brand new sites rise to the top of the ranks literally in weeks, although it is rare.

I am new here but let me reply a useful tip for this thread. Keyword researching is the best idea in my mind for your problem. If you have submitted your URL with appropriate keywords/tags which best describe your website. i bet you will get a better ranking on google.

this is partially true, but there is so much more than that. Yes choosing the RIGHT keywords is very important, but even with the right keywords, it can take a heck of a lot more to get rankings. Just because its the right keyword doesn't mean you will get rankings

No. No. No. Do not "submit" your site to any where. Let the SE find you, and if you do the work right, the SE will find you.
Hope you return here soon and let us know the changes you have/will be making

A single one time submission to google for a brand new site cant hurt anything, but with that in mind I have never submitted even new sites, you are correct, Google (and other SE's) will still find any new sites.
When I read his comment, I took it to mean basically "make sure that the correct keywords/tags are integrated into the site more than anything, which that portion, is definately true. (unless he is talking about the keyword meta tag, in which case, dont bother, its useless.)
